Moved by Bikes makes three racks: a shortboard rack, a longboard rack, and a moped rack. All three attach to the side of the bike or moped and hold the board vertically alongside the rider. The shortboard rack handles boards up to around 6'6". The longboard rack accommodates boards up to 9'6" or so. The moped rack attaches to the moped's frame and works with most electric and gas mopeds common in Venice and Santa Monica. Tips for biking with a surfboard
Ride with the wind at your back when possible — a board mounted to the side creates significant wind resistance and makes headwind riding much harder. Early morning sessions are ideal: lighter traffic, less wind. Keep the board fins-back so the fin cluster is at the rear of the bike rather than pointing forward.
