Quad fins buying guide
Quad fins use four fins with no center fin. Removing the center fin eliminates drag off the tail, creating more speed, more drive down the line, and a looser feel through turns.
Quad vs thruster
Quads are faster and work better in small weak surf (more planing speed) and fast hollow waves (more projection and drive). Thrusters offer more control and pivot — better for critical sections and powerful surf. If your board has a 5-fin box, you can switch between both setups by adding or removing the center fin.
Dedicated quad vs 5-fin boards
Some fish boards have four dedicated fin boxes — these are quad-only shapes. Other boards have five boxes giving you thruster or quad flexibility. Browse 5-fin sets for a single purchase covering both, or quad rear fins if you only need rears to complete a quad.
Size guide
Same weight-based sizing as thrusters: Small, Medium, Large, XL. Quad sets include four fins (two front, two rear). Quad rears only are also available separately.
Board types
Fish surfboards — especially dedicated quad fish shapes. Shortboards with 5-fin boxes. Some midlengths.
