Polyester vs epoxy — which does your board use?
Traditional fiberglass shortboards and hand-shaped boards usually use polyester construction. Modern performance shortboards, Torq boards, Firewire boards, and many midlengths use epoxy construction. Using polyester resin on an epoxy board can dissolve the foam — always match resin to construction. If you're not sure, check the model online or ask us.
Sun-cure resin — easiest for small dings
Apply, shape, expose to direct sunlight, cured in minutes. Ding All makes sun-cure in both polyester (fiberglass boards) and epoxy (epoxy boards) versions. We carry 1 oz tubes for small repairs and 8 oz for larger jobs.
Repair kits for larger jobs
Ding All Polyester Basic Kit — resin, catalyst, fiberglass cloth, sandpaper. For standard fiberglass boards. Ding All Epoxy Basic and Super kits — for epoxy boards at different repair scales. For fin box replacement, buckles, or structural damage, use our professional repair service.
Fiberglass cloth and fillers
4 oz fiberglass cloth is standard for laminating over ding repairs. Q-Cell filler fills voids and deep holes before laminating. Both are available separately.
