Torq construction — TET, TEC, ACT, and X-Lite
All Torq boards are epoxy but not all Torq epoxy is the same. There are four main constructions in the Torq lineup, each with a different performance profile.
TET (Torq Epoxy Technology) — the original Torq construction and the one used across the majority of the lineup. Press-molded epoxy with biaxial fiberglass cloth and Torq's unique Shield Skin. Neutral, forgiving flex with excellent durability. The bulk of our regular Torq stock.
X-Lite — Torq's Channel Islands construction. Lighter and stronger than TET, with a wood composite deck layer for added ding resistance. Used exclusively on the CI collaboration shapes: the Pod Mod, Chancho, and M23.
TEC (Torq Epoxy Composite) — vacuum epoxy with carbon reinforcement, roughly double the fiber of a comparable board. Very direct, immediate performance response. Available by special order.
ACT (Advanced Composite Technology) — pre-preg composite, Torq's pinnacle construction. The same technology used in Formula 1 and aerospace. Available by special order.
