Sun Bum is the most widely carried sunscreen brand in surf retail — and for good reason. Every formula is Hawaii Act 104 compliant, meaning no oxybenzone and no octinoxate, the two chemical UV filters most harmful to coral reefs. All Sun Bum sunscreens are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and paraben-free, enriched with Vitamin E to help neutralize free radicals. Water resistant to 80 minutes.
Original formula
Sun Bum Original is their flagship non-mineral sunscreen — available in SPF 15, 30, 50, and 70 in both lotion (8oz) and spray (6oz) formats. The chemical UV filters absorb into the skin and convert UV rays into heat. Lighter feel than mineral formulas, no white cast, easy to apply before paddling out.
Mineral formula
The Sun Bum Mineral range uses zinc oxide as the active ingredient — a physical blocker that sits on top of the skin and reflects UV rays. Available in SPF 30 and 50 in lotion and spray. The Mineral SPF 30 Tinted Face Lotion adds a slight skin-tone tint for everyday face use. All Mineral formulas are Hawaii Act 104 compliant.
Pro Series face sticks
The Pro Series SPF 30 and SPF 50+ face sticks are compact, no-mess sunscreen in stick format — the surfer's practical choice. Apply directly to nose, cheeks, and ears without getting product on your hands before paddling out. The SPF 50+ Pro Signature face stick is also available in a tinted version. The Sunscreen Face Mist SPF 45 is a spray format designed specifically for the face.

Sun Bum Kids SPF 50 comes in lotion, spray, and face stick — the same Hawaii Act 104 compliant formula as the adult range in a clear formulation gentle on sensitive skin.
