The Lost Big Rig Driver 6'5" is a confidence-boosting performance board for surfers who want extra paddle power, stability, and speed without giving up control. With generous foam packed into a longer outline, this 6'5" x 19.38" x 2.8" (39.2L) build is ideal when you want to get in early, hold a clean line at speed, and stay composed in stronger surf—or simply prefer more board under you day to day.

Why This Big Rig Driver Stands Out

  • Early wave entry: The added length and 39.2L volume help you paddle faster and catch waves sooner.
  • Stable at speed: Extra rail line adds confidence when the wave has push and you’re drawing longer lines.
  • Performance control: Built to handle committed bottom turns and clean, predictable arcs.
  • Futures thruster setup: A reliable 3-fin feel for drive, hold, and consistency.

How It Surfs

This Big Rig Driver is built for surfers who want a performance feel with extra stability. The longer length helps you build speed smoothly and keep momentum through open faces, while the thruster setup keeps the board from feeling too loose when the wave gets steeper. It’s a strong pick for stronger beach breaks, points, and any day you want more confidence under your feet.

Great For

  • Surfers who want a paddle-friendly performance board
  • Stronger conditions where a shorter daily driver feels under-gunned
  • Riders who prefer drawn-out lines, drive, and predictable control

Fin Setup Tips

Since this board uses a Futures thruster configuration, your fin choice can fine-tune the ride:

  • Medium/large thruster: A great starting point for drive and hold in punchier surf.
  • Larger template: Adds stability if you’re surfing fast, powerful waves or want extra control.
  • More upright fins: Can help tighten turning radius if you want quicker pivot off the top.

Note: Fins are not included, so you can choose the Futures thruster set that best matches your style and conditions.

FAQ: Lost Big Rig Driver 6'5" (39.2L) Futures Thruster

Are fins included with this board?

No—this board is listed as fins not included. It uses a Futures thruster setup, so you’ll need a Futures 3-fin set.

Who is a 6'5" / 39.2L shortboard-style board best for?

This size is great for surfers who want extra paddling power and stability—whether you’re a bigger rider, you like more volume, or you want a confidence board for stronger days without going full step-up gun.

Is this board only for big waves?

Not necessarily. While it’s excellent when the waves have size and push, some surfers ride higher-volume drivers as daily boards for easier wave catching and a more stable platform—especially in crowded lineups or inconsistent conditions.

What fins should I start with?

A medium-to-large Futures thruster is a solid starting point for drive and control. If you want maximum hold for more powerful surf, consider a larger template.

Will the added volume make it hard to turn?

More volume can feel different underfoot, but the Driver-style performance design and thruster setup help keep it responsive. Many surfers find the added stability actually increases confidence to push harder through turns.
