The Gem is a high-performance longboard that brings Firewire's epoxy construction quality to traditional longboard surfing. At 8'8" to 9'8" in Helium construction — Firewire's ultra-light build — it is lighter and more responsive than most PU longboards of equivalent length.
Helium construction
Helium is Firewire's lightest construction — an ultra-light EPS core with a refined layup. The result is a longboard that feels alive and responsive underfoot, paddles with less effort, and is easier to carry and maneuver than a traditional heavy glass longboard.
Fin setup — 2+1 with side bites
The Gem runs a 2+1 setup — single center fin with two small side bites. Available in Futures (most boards) and FCS II (one board). Browsesingle finsandside bite fins.
