Channel Islands M23 buying guide
The M23 is Channel Islands' performance midlength — a thruster shape in the 6'8" to 7'6" range that paddles better than a shortboard while still surfing with genuine CI performance quality. It is one of the best midlengths for surfers who want shortboard-style surfing in a more forgiving package.
Shape and performance
The M23 has a midlength outline with a thruster fin setup — not the 2+1 single fin configuration of a traditional midlength, but a proper three-fin performance shape. It surfs like a longer shortboard rather than a glide-focused midlength.
M23 vs CI Mid
TheCI Midruns a 2+1 single fin setup — more glide, trim, and flow. The M23 runs a thruster — more performance turns, more like a longer shortboard. Choose the M23 if you want performance. Choose the CI Mid if you want glide.
Torq epoxy version
TheTorq M23is the same shape in epoxy construction at a lower price. A good entry point into the M23 shape.
