Channel Islands Noserider buying guide
The CI Noserider is Channel Islands' traditional longboard — a classic nose-riding shape built for cross-stepping, hanging five, and the smooth, flowing surfing style that longboarding is named for. Al and Britt Merrick's decades of shaping experience inform a board designed to be ridden from the nose.
Shape and performance
The Noserider has a full, rounded nose with extra width in the front third of the board — the planing surface that allows it to be nose-ridden. A wide point forward keeps the nose stable when you cross-step to the front. The pin tail holds the tail in place during nose-riding, preventing the board from swinging around.
Single fin setup
The Noserider uses a US longboard fin box — the standard long center slot found on most traditional longboards. Both FCS II and Futures single fins fit this box in addition to traditional pin-style fins. For nose-riding, a larger fin in the 9"–10.5" range provides the hold needed to keep the tail down while you walk to the nose. Browsesingle finsfrom True Ames, Flying Diamonds, FCS II, and Futures.
