Firewire Seaside and Beyond buying guide
The Seaside and Beyond takes the Seaside quad fish concept and extends it into midlength territory. At 6'8" to 7'6" it paddles significantly better than a shortboard-length Seaside, catches waves earlier, and generates its own glide — while still delivering the quad speed and drive the Seaside is known for.
Who is the Seaside and Beyond for?
The Seaside and Beyond suits surfers who want a midlength that feels fast and lively rather than mellow and traditional. It is a performance midlength fish rather than a classic 2+1 midlength — if you want trim and glide, look at a traditional 2+1 setup. If you want speed, quad drive, and a board that works in small to medium surf with more paddle power than a standard shortboard, this is your board.
Seaside and Beyond vs standard Seaside
TheSeaside(5'2"–5'11") is the shortboard-length version — more shortboard feel, smaller, more maneuverable. The Seaside and Beyond (6'8"–7'6") paddles much better and has more glide but is less maneuverable in tight sections. Choose based on your board length preference and how much paddle power matters to you.
