O'Neill Ninja buying guide
The Ninja uses a front zip entry system — the zipper panel runs vertically down the chest rather than across the back. This makes it very easy for kids to zip and unzip themselves, which is a genuine practical advantage over back zip suits that often require a parent's help.
Youth Ninja
The youth Ninja is available in 3/2mm and 4/3mm with front zip entry. A good choice for kids who want to be independent getting in and out of their wetsuit.
Women's Ninja
The women's Ninja in 4/3mm chest zip is designed for performance surfing in colder conditions.
Ninja vs Epic for kids
The Youth Epic uses back zip — the simplest entry and easiest to find help with. The Ninja front zip is easier for kids to operate solo. Both are good kids' wetsuits — the choice comes down to which entry system works best for how your child gets themselves ready.
The WetChute — makes getting wetsuits on easier
The WetChute is a nylon sleeve that allows neoprene to slide over skin easily. Makes getting any wetsuit on much faster for kids. Available in store at Rider Shack.
