Rip Curl Flash Bomb Fusion buying guide
The Flash Bomb Fusion is Rip Curl's most technically advanced wetsuit. It solves the single most persistent problem in wetsuit construction: seam leakage. Traditional wetsuits use stitching to hold seams together. Stitching is strong, but over time the needle holes become pathways for water. Liquid tape helps, but is bulky and eventually degrades.
Fusion Dry Seam Technology
Fusion Dry Seam Technology uses a unique three-layer bonding technique: the neoprene edges are tapered, glued together, and a third outer layer of E7 tape is applied on top. The tapering creates a less bulky seam than other stitchless methods while maintaining exceptional strength. Critical areas at the wrists and ankles get a fourth internal E7 tape layer for extra reinforcement. The result is 96% stitch-free construction — a wetsuit seam that simply doesn't leak.
