O'Neill Hyperfreak buying guide
The Hyperfreak is O'Neill's most flexible performance wetsuit. TechnoButter 3 neoprene is 20% lighter and 30% less water-absorbent than any other premium neoprene. O'Neill describes the feel as surfing naked — a wetsuit so light and unrestrictive that you barely notice it.
TechnoButter 3 and TB3X
TechnoButter 3 — O'Neill's previous-generation premium neoprene. Still one of the most flexible wetsuits on the market. Lightweight with rapid drying.
TB3X — the stretch-focused variant of TB3. Even more flex-oriented, used on the sleeves and entry panels where maximum stretch matters most.
Fluid Seam construction
The Hyperfreak uses Fluid Seam Weld construction throughout — triple-glued blind-stitched interior seams with an exterior weld for a fully watertight and highly flexible seam construction.
Entry options
The Hyperfreak is available in F.U.Z.E. chest zip (360-degree anti-flush barrier) and zip-free (maximum flex, no zipper drag). Chest zip for most surfers. Zip-free for performance surfers who want the most unrestricted movement possible.
Hyperfreak vs Hyperfreak Fire
The Hyperfreak Fire adds TB4 Firewall graphene technology for more warmth. The Hyperfreak focuses on maximum flexibility at slightly lower warmth. For LA winter sessions where warmth is a priority, Hyperfreak Fire. For performance surfing in milder conditions where flex is the priority, Hyperfreak.
